Well, as the owner and maker of the CrabHawk, we've done tons of research and developement that has gotten us to the product shown on this, as well as our website.

The CrabHawk is legal from coast to coast as it is an open crab/lobster catcher that won't harm what you catch because it sits flat and doesn't trap anything. More and more people are trying the CrabHawk everyday and are VERY satisfied with how easy and fun it is to use.
