    Default HELP! URGENT!

I`ve got 40lb.s of chicken necks. This is the first time I bought this a large of a quantity. They are frozen in a box with ice on top. I want to separate them and put them in freezer bags and put them back in the freezer. Is it okay to let them thaw out and then repackage them and refreeze again. I figure if they don`t start to smell and rot, it will not matter to the crabs if it refrozen necks. What do you think?

Hose them down, you can seperate them faster, and you dont have to thaw them all the way.

Hosing down does help to thaw them faster, although I do not do it being as that not only does it melt the ice, but it washes all the blood off/out of the necks. Simply allow them to thaw enough to the point that you are able to break them off. If you cut your necks in half or thirds, then this is definitely the perfect time to do it. Use a pair of craftsman handi-cuts or something similar. Some also use a hatchet or butcher knife I believe.
