    Tony,

I surely hope that if you have a commercial crabbing license you say this in jest. "Clue me in"

If not below are some links. You got alot of reading.
I think this is probably why DNR requires new license holders go through the Apprentice Program or have three licensees sign saying you have boating time.

A couple of not so obvious things that they will check:

Don't forget to install a worker plaque where it can be seen.

Make sure that your life vests have reflectors on them. These are just couple of things that are not required or recs. There are others too.

Add marking your floats with your LCC number and your name to the list.

This is actualy a good point. I try to keep up w/ all regs but sometimes something may slip by. How about a list of "strange" things that you have been asked by DNR to produce. I'm sure there are some things that we may have missed.

Anybody have handle on the law about the plaque?

I thought 26' was the breaking point on the plaque, coldwater suit, bell, and life ring, as well as a few others.

26' is for the Oil discharge placard. You still need the injury placard. The submersion suit depends on your distance from shore.

For those interested, C-Hawk's Post on the websites above, #3 is a good guide for Crabbing Vessels.

Fishing Vessels over 26' must have a emmersion suit for each crew member on board from Nov 1 - May 1 in the Bay.

Cold water reg...Great Lakes and inland bodies of water.
