Default Taking some young kids fishing Sunday.....need your help

Anyone know where some decent sized croaker can be caught? Want to let the kids catch something that is steady and a good pull on light tackle. Any help is appreciated.

It would be helpful to list where you are launching to narrow down the suggestions you might receive.

MM tunnel from what I heard, might not be too rough in that stiff NE wind

My son said a friend caught some in the lynnhaven river today. Launch at Lynnhaven boat ramp. Depending on how big a boat you got, you can fish the bay or the river. If the kids get tired of fishing or hunger, there are some good places to eat where you can dock your boat. If it is to rough in the bay, you can fish within a mile or less of the ramp. Only thing is that their is construction going on and they are taking a lot of places with their trucks. If they are full, Bubbas is just across the bridge where you can launch a boat. http://www.virginia.org/Listings/Out...BeachFacility/

Portsmouth City park has some bridges close by where there are pleanty of croaker. If you get tired of fishing, you can always cruise over to waterside, grab a bite to eat.

Not sure about croaker but Lynnhaven is a great choice. Drift around near the tennis court area and you can catch croaker, reds, flounder, etc. great place to catch a mixed bag.
