With the requirement to stay 400 yards away from the dam is it still possible to catch stripers here or should I plan on looking elsewhere this summer?

Rockfish can be found throughout the river below the dam. My favorite spot was known as the Z riffle about a mile below the dam.

BY the time you can legally fish for stripers up there they have already moved back down the bay,cuz the water is show shallow up there and it gets piss warm.

plenty of rockfish in the river all summer, have caught plenty of them float tubing that piss warm water from the dam to deer creek, always better in early morning or late eve. Plenty of schoolies can be had with cut bait or live lining perch around Lapidum.
