Default installing a Garmin 301 DV in a sit in pungo

Does anyone have one of these units . I mounted my other fish finder transducer in Goop right in the floor of my Kayak but since this has down view I don't know if that will work or not with this garmin.

Anyone who has this unit or any downview unit from garmin let me know how you did your xducer. Hopefully it wold shoot right thru..

You may want to try mounting it with duct seal (aka electricians or plumbers putty) instead of Goop to see if it works well. Duct seal isn't permanent. You can easily remove it as opposed to Goop. I mounted mine (not down image) two years ago and it hasn't moved. Some people make a wet well with it, which may be the best for down image, but I just made a nice flat 1/2" thick patty and mashed the xducer down into the duct seal while moving it back and forth to get rid of air bubbles. It works great for my older Hummingbird. Google "kayak transducer duct seal". There is lots of info on it. The duct seal you need is a 1lb block found in the electrical section in Lowe's or Home Depot:
