Default Save the date - April 11th - CPR and raft up

Sooner or later - this #@*& cold weather will be gone and we can get out fishing.

One of the sure signs of spring is the SRRKC CPR ( Catch , Photograph , Release ) raft up. $10.00 per angler.

We hold this fun event the Saturday before opening day. The PSCR rules allow 6 rods per boat so this makes for a very level playing field. You can also go LTJ - any technique allowed by DNR is fine.

PSCR calls for single barbless lures - you can use tandems - 6 rods max.

So save the date and file down the barbs.

    ------Date: Saturday April 11th (preseason)
    ------Location: Chesapeake Bay
------Entry Fee: $10/person (final sign up is April 1st ( no joke ) at the SRRKC meeting; payment due at that time)
    ------Coordinator: Skip Zinck (27 sailfish)
    ------Rules:
    Lines in at 5am
    Catch by hook & line
    CPR – Catch/Photograph/Release
Photos must be easy to read and clear to qualify
Trollers – rod limits as stipulated by DNR; LTJ and Chum w/circle hooks permitted
    ------VHF: Channel 78
------Weigh-In Location: Lake Ogleton (Begins at 2pm and ends at 2:30pm)

    ------Prizes:
    ------1) Single Longest Fish . . . . . .= 50% of prize money & trophy
    ------2) Second Longest Fish . . . . .= 20% of prize money
    ------3) Third Longest Fish . . . . . . = 10% of prize money
    ------4) SRRKC Fund . . . . . . . . . . = 20% of prize money

Kim and I are in Skip, maybe more.

I was just telling Tricky Ricky the other day that I have to do the Fishing Tournament Schedule. Working 6 & 7 days a week all winter and some times to 10pm and 11pm. But working hard now to get some major fishing in the year. I'll get to work on it.....

If I can get a day or two before then (if it ever stops snowing, sleeting and raining in other words) to do a little work on the boat I am in!

Has there been any more traction on this?? Has anyone heard if it will be OK to launch from Sandy Point and head south prior to the 15th or is Sandy Point closed due to the April 15th ice restriction?

Mark - the ice restriction until April 15th was a knee / jerk reaction. The ice broke up about 5 days ago - everything is now open.

Sure there will be more signing up at our April meeting.
