    Default Pt St Lucie Fishing

Hey Guys...I might be visiting a snow bird buddy in mid Feb who lives close to the river. He is not a fisherman but fishing would be one of my main reasons for visiting. I've never fished FL and am looking at inshore or near shore light tackle and will be wanting to either charter and / or rent a small boat (up to 3 people). I'm guessing that snook or redfish would be target species in that area but don't know for sure. I will be bringing my own gear...6 - 7' M to MH spinning rods paired with 2500 - 4000 series reels. Any info on guides, species available, and specific locations would be greatly appreciated...Thanks.

Reach out to Bottom Knocker, he owns a home in Fl. and may be able to help.

    Mike,

There sure are a lot of Mikes on this forum. I think we need to have a meeting of the Mikes.

Sebastian Inlet is close to Port St. Lucie. It can be good at times.

If you are looking for a great charter experience call sunshine tours in Marco island, just south of your friend, book with Capt Scott. He will put you on fish and you will learn a ton about the South FL fishery. We are in Marco now and were catching tons of nice sheepshead on live shrimp

Marek, Port St. Lucie is on the east coast, and Marco Island is on the gulf. Are you sure you know where you are?
