It could be a possibility. Last year I had in my log that the bite started around the first week in may. The reds are being caught in hatteras as we speak. I am ready for those big boys.

Anybody put in any thought about trying for blacks on the shoals next weekend?

p.s. making a new chum tube this weekend

Still to early IMO. Need some consistantly higher water temps. 58 degrees are near there
just wanted to throw it out there. i'm getting tired of working on these beautiful days and having crap on the weekend. may i'll work this weekend and take a day or two off this week.

It doesnt need to be 58 to catch Black drum, the next warm spell and someone will get lucky.
You are right someone might get lucky with a fish. Go ahead and drive the the ES and spend 25.00 on a bushell of sea clams and see what you do and let me know. I was talking about at consistant bite, something worth going for. I have only caught a few hundred, but I guess I do not know anyhting.
JUSTIN,
WHERE ARE YOU GETTING YOUR BUSHELLS OF THE SEA CLAMS?
Chris's Bait and Tackle at the Edgewood Motel. It a few miles after to get off the CBBT on the ES. Some tackle shops started getting them on this side last year so hopefully that trend will continue. Did not mean to be crappy, but this weather is ****** me off.[sad]
YOU AND ME BOTH!!! THIS WEATHER BLOW. I'VE BEEN SLAVING MY $%% OFF THIS PAST MONTH AND REALLY WANT TO WEAR OUT SOME BIG SHOULDERS!!!
I have caught a few Drum myself, sorry if I pissed you off but I dont agree with you on the temps.for Black Drum.I dont trailer my boat over the bridge I run it in the H2o.The clams can be kept alive for more than one trip also.I get them for free when I dig them out of the sand.I never consider fishing a waste even when I dont burn em.
