I am no expert but SPRO 130 lb test work fine.

Whoops!!! I guess I should read closer!!

Still no expert but a crimp or Uni works for me!

Anything larger than 50# gets a crimp. Under I like
    a 4 turn uni knot.

Assuming you crimp the leader side of the SPRO connection before hand, a palomar is out. I have used a Uni for years and years.

    Default favorate line to leader????

I'll throw in some info... We used 80# or so spro swivels one time and a uni knot and it was a disaster ! The 130# spro might be better but, it seemed like the small diamter of the ring cut through the line too easily - we had a school of 90# + YFT at the back of the boat anfd had multiple line failures right at the swivel.

Palimar is better if you can do it, since it has two lines that go around the loop. Another option may be to double-loop the uni. It takes more time and you have to lube it up good, and cinch it down slowly and carefully. It works !

But like I said, maybe a 130# spro is big enough to solve the issue we had. Either way, I don't use spros anymore ! Just practice your rigging and make a loop-to-loop or make some wind-ons the hard way !

    Default favorate line to leader????

It seems like I'm in the minority these days, but I use a loop to loop conection for wind-on to leader (no swivel used) Bimini on the mainline and Spectra/Dacron loop on leader. It's a simple set-up for trolling.

Patrick I agree. We use 130 spro swivels.

Joe this is how I set it up.
On my 20s and 30s I have 10 feet of double line from
a bimini and the wind ons are 80 Jinkai tied w/ a Yucatan
    Knot.

On the 50s I have a 130 spro either tied with a uni to crimp
connection or double line to a looped connection on the wind on.
then the bait is on a short leader with either a spro
    or a snap swivle.

The 80s have a double line looped to a spliced wind on
with a snap swivle crimped on.
