when the lines are wet I don't care much about the ride. Your only going 6-7 knots. It's the two hour pounding to get there and back that is the hard part...the 2660 trolls nice in high seas.
I'm a great fan of the cat ride & there's a 25' cat sitting at the house that I've fished for 5 or so years now. One thing to remember when you run a cat is don't let the ride fool you. Yes you can go comfortably when others can't and yes you can go when the waves keep others tied to the dock, BUT at some point you have to STOP and fish!!!! If you trudged out there in 6-8 foot waves in a 26' cat you have to eventually fish that 26' cat in those same 6-8 foot waves. At trolling speed a 26' boat is a 26' boat reguardless of hull design. As a matter of fact our cat doesn't troll in heavy seas near as good as a monohull of the same length.
Don't get me wrong, the ride is great...but like I said, you gotta stop & fish some time.

But when those tiny little cat hulls dunk themselves into several 6'ers in a row you better have some good scuppers and/or bildge pumps. SeaCats for sure don't troll in seas well at all. That 6-7 knots can be more dangerous than the 20 you ran out in.

Tiny...there is nothing tiny on my boat but I see your point and I don't understand it? I have been fishing a ProKat 2660 for four years, fished a WorldKat for 2 and owned a mono hull for two. I chose the ProKat over the worldcat because the worldcat tracks back and forth while trolling. The one thing for sure is that I will be passing you at 30 knots in and back in 3-5. If I give you a camera can you take a picture of us? I AM JUST KIDDING I'VE HAD A NEW BOAT FOR A MONTH AND HAVE TAKEN IT OUT ONCE I'M BORED...CABIN FEVER...
