Catching any Rockfish/Blues off Ocean City?

Any info on catching some big Rockfish or Bluefish off Ocean City, Trolling?? I was considering taking the boat there for a day trip...Thanks.

Keep in mind that it's illegal to posess rock in Federal waters
so if you are more than 3 miles from the beach you can't fish
for them.

Haven't ventured outside the inlet but a number of nice stripers were taken at the 90 bridge last week. 2 over thirty pounds. A few buddies and I caught three over 30 inches fishing from a dock in west oc. Blues are in the inlet so I'm sure they are at the Jackspot and inside lumps as well. Good luck

Im familiar with the 3 mile rule...I haven't decided if its worth the trip considering the hot bite in the Chesapeake now for trophy Stripers/Rock..I thought there might be some big hogs just outside the inlet? Thanks.

yes, they are there. . . both rocks and blues. There is no CONSISTANT bite of either, but they are there. . . just be in the right place at the right time.

Personally, i would stay with the bay for a while (ches bay) for the trophy season. Granted there are fish in OC right now, but not in great numbers yet. Hopefully with some better weather we will see better reports cuz more people should be fishing.

I am going to take a look on Wed or Thursday with the new rig. Plan on trying to catch some sea bass as well as some blues. The reports have been pretty good from the inside areas. Let me know if you plan to go on either of these days and maybe we could work together.

Capt. George, how far offshore are you planning on heading? I would love to hear about any bluefish reports from the inshore lumps.

Shark, I have some wrecks that are out 20-30 that I want to look on but will be checking the shoals for life on the ride out. I'll let you know how it goes. Capt. George

We nailed blues at the Jackspot last year in late May. Planned to catch enough to use for chunking for shark. Used stretch 25s and couldn't get more than 2 lines in water without reeling a good sized bluefish in.
