Planned on fishing the 230 line on Sat but when we got out of the inlet we decided? or were better able to run due south with a couple other charter boats 14 knots out the hard way. Ended up fishing the 850 to 000in 30 fathoms to overboard. Lines in at 23 miles out and bam gaffer goes in the box while getting the spread out. Couple more knockdowns nothing tight kept trolling deep found nice color change out deep but it was tough trolling in 5 to 6 foot white caps on top. Worked it while we could but then
trolled back in to 40 fathoms little better conditions had a quick biteoff then 15 mins later had screaming run fought em for 15 mins hook pulled probably nother hoo. Ended the day beat up and with one gaffer. Fun initiation to the inlet both on the way out and the way in. That 25" Carolina Classic sure was built for days like today.

Sunday complete opposite beautiful seas and did 30 knots out ran up to the 230-280 and out to the 820 found weedline all to our selves and was steady gaffer action all day. Just couldn't find Mr Bill. Ended with 11 gaffers and one 25lb gaff and release as my crew couldn't get the hot fish in the box that was already full and over the transom he goes.

Ready for the warm water off VB soon
