    Default Late Sunday Canyon Report

lines in at the S. Ledge 6am. Manages 2 nice YFT (one going 48# & 3 gaffers all before 830am.

At 930am in 70 fathoms on a b/w sailure just s. of the canyon....Mr. White comes out of nowhere & swallows it on the first bite. 25 minutes later we release the first billfish ever on Regulator 1. unbelievable fish!!!

missed another white about hour after that.......& we are now in the middle of the norfolk canyon & a bunch of boats......whites are being caught left n right around us at about 1pm. watch a boat hook up & the fish do his dance all over the place ..... & as soon as they releases the fish & put the boat back in gear...another is dancing on there long rigger....beautiful site.

as this happens we get a screamer on the downrigger & are clearing the lines.........as the long rigger is being reeled in....i look out & theres a mr. white is chasing it........slamms it 30 ft off the back of the boat & comes skying out of the water w/ the same sailure in its mouth...........when he hits the water the hook pulls & he circles around our spreader bar but then takes off.....really cool!

downrigger comes the the gaff & its a nice wahoo. 30-35# fish hits the deck & we yell for the crew to watch there feet......well the dumb one stands there looking at the fish flopping & sure enough....it tagged him on the foot..........20 stitches for him when we got home sunday night.......after that......we put the spread back out & there's mr. wahoo again....but this time he breaks the 80# line on the downrigger on the initial run....must of been a good one...& i lost the hoos favorite lure....a skirted black n purple cedar plug.

    final tally for the day:

    1-3 on whites
    2-4 on yft
    3-3 on gaffers
    1-2 on wahoo

o yeah first wahoo for the regulator 1 also.

if the weatherman would have been on my boat in the morning i would of dragged his a## as a teaser.

    the ride in was nice.

Wahoo on the grill last night was out of this world......can you eat ono sashimi?????? i heard its really good...might try iot tonight.

Awesome! I might have to head that way this Sunday. Will be leaving out of Sunset early. Would like to head back South where we were this Sunday, but that's a long ride out of the mouth of the James River.
