This is late I know, but 3 girls do keep me busy when I am not fishing. 5th boat out of the inlet into a rather snotty head sea followed by Juggernaut somewhere behind us. Nice to meet you Calvin and your crew. We ran east until we hit about 25 fathoms to Chuck's favorite spot. The water was 80 degrees and green as the Bay. It took about an hour for our first YFT on pink and yellow. After that fight, when we were dropping back the green spreader bar with a green machine, bam! The fish ran then shook it. As we dropped it back again, I saw a splash and a huge boil. Fish on again! 4 out of our 6 YFT were on the spreader bar. I picked off another white one on the Bart's Hawaiian Breakfast. Ended the day bailing dolphin on a weed line. As for the VBBT, I fished on Triflin with Bill Richardson and crew. 18 knots was the most we could make to get out. One mystery pull and 4 dolphin. It was slow for us to say the least. Congratulations to Mike Standing and crew for their hard work to win the tourney.
I could use a little more practice on the gaff. Notice the spreader bar.
Rick is happy he did not go croaker fishing.

Really nice,
Thanks for the report, nice to keep up with what is going on at OI.

Nice work on the OI report. I know you said you started east of the inlet at 25 fat in the green but where were the tuna bites an hr later? What depth, water coler & 4 line. Were they single bites or any multipulls? Did the temp stay 80 thru- out. Thanks for any info, I wasn't able to fish this weekend & reports have been scarce. The Point Runner basically reported the same. Sat shots have allso been lame. Congrats on your great day!!
Bill.
Well, that report doesn't stink...great job.
I CAN'T believe you fished a green, plastic lure south of the VA Beach line [grin]
Just kidding...I say use what WORKS!

Hit N Run, I try not to do run on posts, so I did leave out a few details. The water stayed green all day. All of the hits came between 50 and 100 fathoms one at a time. The YFT were just nuts for that spreader bar. The 4 lines were 740 to 790 with 770 tending to be a sweet spot. The temperature stayed right around 80 all day. Unlike Juggernaut, we never went had really rough conditions where we were. I hope that helps you.

Warren,
Nice work on the YFT and the pics are a nice too!

Weekend Mistress
NICE JOB WARREN. WE FISHED OVER 1000 FATHOMS ALL DAY. ONCE WE CROSSED THE COLOR CHANGE FROM UGLY GREEN TO GULF STREAM BLUE 86 DEGREE IT GOT ROUGH 4 TO 6. ALOT OF CURRENT, WIND, & SEA'S. FISHED OUT TO THE 710 &720. HAD TO TROLL BACK INSIDE. WE CAUGHT ALL FISH IN GREEN WATER & DEEP. CALVIN
Warren,
I observed for the VBBT on the Trilfin Friday. Had a great time with them!! Owners, capt and crew were a joy to fish with!!! It was hard not to help them since I was observing. My instincts wanted to kick in. Friday they had a white, 2 dolphin over 25 pounds each and 2 wahoo at 22 and 28#'s.
Good job on your fishing!!

Thanks warren. Thats just what I wanted to hear!! The tuna outside are tough to catch in the mid day + the green water is easier to locate bait. Not to mention the odds are better for a nice wahoo or even better a sail. I think I'll check it out next weekend if the weather alows & the conditions are similar.
Bill.
