    Default Washington 9/23 FIXIT report

Hey all, Sounds like fishing was very productive this past weekend.. Went to 30 fathom lumps to chunk, Forget it, I'm not a meat slinger and never will be... Tried for 1 hour then we decide to troll, Pickup 6-7 Dolphin.. Heard of a Tuna bite just east of us and head that way. 1 mile outside (east) of the grass white water in back the boat on the short rigger, Soaked us on the second splash and off screams a nice Blue Marlin.. 1 hour 40 minutes later we release him.. It was a nice one and I'm afraid to even try to give an estimate as I don't catch them often. That reel screamed on the first 2 runs.....
    Tally:
    7 Dolphin (1 gaffer)
    1 Blue Marlin
    0 Tuna
Did not hit the inlet till dark, That was nice (NOT) Out of Wachapreague....

Great work Scott, that water was so pretty outside 30f. We were thinking the same thing as we heard Always Late had jumped off a blue in the area we went to. I've not seen so clean pretty blue water in my life and with all those little mahi snacks around it doesn't surprise me a blue suit was about. Again, great work.

Oh, regarding chunkin, I hear ya. Unfortuately it does work.

Scott- If you need a chunker, let me know. Terp will rig some ugly stuff. Foam floats ?? Please !!!! And the yelling.... I can get that at home from my wife, I don't need it from him in the ocean !

Great job on the Blue ! Fish of a lifetime! Come on, you can give an unofficial estimate . How long ? 300 - 400#s or bigger ??

Pat, I'm gonna guess about 300-400#.. It was not a small blue by any means.. Caught a 250# about 4 years ago and this one was for sure more shoulder ..
Terp yell, No way ........ [tongue]
