I was offshore from Chincoteague last Monday, and we, like many other people on this board, caught well chunking. When we arrived, some boats were chunking and some were trolling. I did see some charter boats that were trolling stopped and fighting fish, but by late morning all boats around me were chunking. I think you will catch using either technique, but my hunch is that you will catch more and bigger fish on the chunk.
Be ready for both, but I would chunk first. We fished out there last Mon. and ran outta room for fish. We hit them on every drift, and like Terp said be ready for the mahi/bluefish clones they eat everything you throw in, even an unbaited hook.
Jim-
With this forcast, I bet someone will be chunking even if you troll !!!! I know that Regulator is Sweet, but keep an eye out... NE winds at 10-15 knots with 4' - 7' waves on Tuesday night is enough to keep me at the dock ! I think you'll have some nasty stuff in the am but looking better as the day goes by.
Good luck if you go !!!
TUE NIGHT
WINDS SHIFTING TO NE AND DECREASING TO 10 TO 15 KT.
SEAS SUBSIDING TO 4 TO 7 FT. SHOWERS AND TSTMS ENDING EARLY.
WED
NE WINDS 10 TO 15 KT BECOMING VARIABLE 5 TO 10 KT LATE.
SEAS SUBSIDING TO 3 TO 5 FT.
Jim,
IF you have a diligent crew trolling in ALL the weeds you will find is managable but if they aren't ready to constantly Clean lines ALL day...CHUNK.The weeds also brought alot of Mahis and Flyers.Gonna try ONE last time this weekend if Winds are doable.Good luck buddy.

Troll or Chunk??
Pat, I hope they are wrong to some degree but if we have to go slow then so be it. More of a reason to chunk early I guess.
Dave, thanks I hope to have a good day as this is it for me up North this year. I'll give it a couple of more trys down at OI and HI in November and possibly December before switching to all Rock. Do you have plans for the CBBT? Good luck this weekend if you go.
