    Default Poll- Favorite trolling spread.

    Hey yall,
Just curious as to what all like to pull, and what for.

BFT- Cedar plugs in flatlines, GM in everything else.
YFT- Cedars in Flats, Spreadar bars in short riger, GM long rigger, GM behind bird for shotgun.
Kings- Cedars or spoons in flats, Short riggers spoons behind planer boards, Long riggers GM or spoons, Yozuri bonito shotgun.
Mahi- Cedars in flats, Spoons, tuna clone chains, GM or islanders in short and long riggers. Yozuri bonito shotgun.

This is my favorite combos, I like my cedars as you can tell, not much wrong with the GM either.

8 Chaos custom 5'5" all ring guide rods (50 lb class rod, 2-piece with aluminum butt), Shimano TLD 25 reels, 30 lb hi-vis line, 90 lb sampo swivel.

20 ft of 100 lb momoi smoke blue hi-catch, mustad 7731 9/0, 1/2 oz chin weight, home-made witch (any color will work as long as its green), medium ballyhoo.

6 meat, 2 spreader bars. spreaders in the shorts, meat surrounding it, tight. flat lines just clear of the wash, rest of the spread makes its way back, approx. 20 ft back of each bait. short shotgun is between spreaders, long shotgun is between the long riggers.

no bites--drop the shotgun first, then the long riggers, inside of the shotgun bait.

still no bites, long rigger goes naked.

no bites, change out a flat for a planer rig.

no bites--change out the skirted long rigger for a wind on of 40-60 lb leader, 60-100 ft, naked hoo, drop it back like you are bluefin fishing, make most of your turns dipping this rigger. if they don't eat it, then you have nothing but vegetarian yft around you[wink]

Everyone pulls meat, huh. Personally, I like to be able to unhook a fish and just drop the rig back over, But thats just me. Most of the guys in the area pull meat, and are fairly succesfull. I just like trolling artificials more.

I use pink alot for stripers, shad and weakies. Works great. Havn't tried it too much offshore, I like My blue and white, red and white, green and black and red. But, I'll try it. All pink, or pink over white? Also, just lures or as a skirted bait?
