Fishing Buddy Jack (Pooper) Rhodes was itching to try his newly aquired 28' inboard SeeVee (from Sublime Jim) offshore; so with the pretty forecast and recent pictures of tuna on the dock we left Vah Bch at 130am with the full moon and Jack's boat in tow. Pulled out of Teaches Lair a few minutes behind the Marlin Mania; the only other boat that fished yesterday. Wx not as predicted and we put out on the break at the 240 rocks in windy conditions. I knew we were in for a long day when the 1st line out got hit immediately. A false albacore that held as our only bite till around 230 when we hit several more albies. Marlin Mania who was nice enough to check in with us during the day had the same catch. Fished up to the 280 rocks with water temps 67 to 71.5. We saw no tuna birds, dolphin sharks or whales; definately nobody home till we got 3 miles off the beach where we were treated to an ariel display by a 50' whale!

Yup, thxs for the report. Mental breaks like that are priceless as well. Sounds like you hit both sides of the break. I guess the planer came out too?

Terp- Had a 61 to 68 break in 35 fathoms and 68 to 71 very gradual blend in 100 fathoms. Had the trap out all day w/ a pink seawitch- a couple of albie bites only.

Dave thanks for the report. Sorry you didn't get some sushi. Looks like it's hit or miss right now down there but it's good to see a report. How did the boat handle the rough stuff? Also good to hear that Jim Bowman was helpful. He's a good Captain and a good guy. Fished with him many times and got him booked for April or May I believe.

Jim Bowman of the Marlin Mania is a great captain and knows where the fish are. If you were out there with him, it was probably the best fishing to be found, anywhere in that area!!!
