Default Accurate tide info for HI

Anybody got a place I can get accurate predictions of the tides in Hatteras Inlet. I've used the info from North Carolina's state site, picked up the tide charts at Frisco and prayed to Neptune. None of it has been worth a damn. They don't even seem to be within three hours of what the tide is actually doing. It makes a big difference with HI (especially with a SE swell as predicted this weekend) Falling tide = ugly inlet in a 25 foot boat. Any ideas?[sad]

Ken, take the Tide at "Cape Hatteras" and add 2 hrs. for the Inlet. About as good as I've ever been able to figure out.
I'll be at the Yellow House this weekend

    Try this website:

    http://www.saltwatertides.com/dynamic.dir/ncarolinasites.html

If the link does not work, then go to Teach's Lair's website and click on the Weather and Fish Regs tab and the link is on there as well.

I use it to know what the inlet is doing when running out early.

    Good luck,

    David D.

Hi Dave. Thanks. That's one of the sources I've used. I usually print up a page from that site for the days we'll be there and I've found it is almost always way off. I think Glenn has it about right though. It seems to be 2 or maybe even 3 hours behind in the inlet itself. Thanks for the help though. Catching the tide in the inlet makes a huge difference in the conditions. As long as the tide is running with the wind and or swell and not against it its usually not tooo bad.

    Thanks again.

Ken, Sat. was too rough to get out so we anchored up at the can adjacent to the point on Ocoke. waiting for the change to Cobe fish ( whoops, let out the secret hole--[grin]). Predicited high for Cape Hatteras was 6:55 am---- slack tide for us started at 8:45

We actually, never tried for the Cobia. Steve Hissey said three Cobes were caught there Friday but I didn't see any on Sat. Caught a couple of nice bait Spanyards was about all
