Sorry to hear that Dave. Hard to understand why they are there and biting one day and off the next. We've all been there. Good luck next time.
Well it was close but @ the last minute John Peace and a ba saved a skunky day.We chunked our brains out,Dana,Ryan and Co captain Van @ the sausages to no avail.I had a backup plan for kings and blues but that did not materialize @ the jspot. We saw a whale and many turtles but no tuna.A bass pot yeilded 3 dolphin that saved the day Water 80 and sloppy.Tight lines.

We got one early and missed one all by 7am and then that was it.65- 70lb yft in the box .North suasage squid was the flavor.
Except for a very bumpy ride out, it was a great day on the ocean. It's always exciting when a large humpback whale surfaces within a hundred yards, and the tuna bite changed 180 degrees to almost non-existent. It would have been nice if fish were being caught anywhere out there, but radio traffic suggested that it was a very slow bite everywhere. It was amazing that we wouldn't even catch a few king macks at the Jackspot on the way home. But it seemed that it was that way nearly everywhere. Well, I'm taking a lay day tomorrow, so I hope the bite turns back on and you fill up the fish lockers; otherwise, we'll get them next week.
How many boats were feeding them at the Dog?
Hope the crew has blood in the boat Sunday! Some days are not meant to be.

Dave, Well at least you got into something and that’s a good thing. Glad to hear you didn’t get skunked. I was hoping for a good day with the weather forecast I saw on Friday (winds 10 -15 knots wave 2-4 feet). The weather men missed it again. They must have meant 2 foot whitecaps on top of the waves. We ventured out yesterday ourselves. When we got to the dock the wind was blowing. I think we would have been better off turning around ourselves. We started chunking at the sausages then decided to troll and only had one mystery bite.
Dave, Sorry to hear about the lack of catching. Those darn fish and their fins moving around like that. Hope tomorrow proves to be the day you get into them.
Dave, sorry about no tuna but glad to see you got a few dolphins at the end.
Dave - sure glad I took the Stradic 2500 and the BA's. Probably not the best outfit for offshore but it worked. Glad the Mahi's and Bonita weren't bigger as it would have been tough but it worked good on the schoolies.[smile]
