I hope you left some for me.[grin]
Gonna give it a try in the morning.
Can anybody give any little hints on possible areas to crab in the GP, I know where to fish topwater for fall rockfish but the only time I crabbed it last fall I didn't do good, last year I was 1/2 way between Maxwell and the mouth of the GP, in about 7' - 10'. Not looking for any secret spots or honey holes but maybee a stretch of shoreline or a depth that might hold a few crabs.
JP: Best edges (Battery Pt., Dundee, Carrol Isl) are tough to secure (early bird). If wind permits, GP north shore across from Dundee along EA-APG has a fine edge. Shelf is clam city, less crabbing pressure, more jimmies... but lordy the wind plays hell on that side.
Anywhere you find a 3'- 5' shelf dropping to 7'- 8' should work wekk. I'm not a fan of the open middle flat but it must work for some folks.
fish slap - I believe the spot across from dundee on the apg side is where I was last yearbut it was my first trip to the GP and maybee I was off by just a little bit, I'm just trying to find a possible area that I can get out of the wind tomorrow and fish and crab, GP or Patapsco are looking the best, if not I might try some rivers down off of Eastern Bay.
hey JP i'll tell u where I caught em yesterday if you tell me how to catch rock on topwater in the fall. just trying to start to get into bay fishin cuz ive always had a lot of luck in little gp and loch raven.
doublemaster - think my crabbing the rest of the season might be in E.Bay, however, your more than welcome to go with me in the GP when it turns on.
