Dropped the traps in at 7:15 AM this morning and did the first run at 7:30. Did OK the first two runs but things went downhill fast. Packed up at 10:30 with 41 crabs. The last two runs,( 30 topless traps), we had a total of 3 crabs. The 3 boats around us were having the same type of day. Wind came up as the day went on.........it was still nice out there, just expected more action.
I'll be trying Rocky Point later this week.

What area of the GP were you working. They could be moving out of there. Was planning to try the GP in the morning. Perhaps I should go farther south.

Thanks for the report. High tide was just before 10 AM this morning on the GP, which IMHO, explains the slowdown. I've always had better runs when the tide is moving.

even after dead tide it would of been outgoing and in my opinion and experience incoming tide is usually better in gp. Prolly be giving it the last run of the year on friday around MP. Hopefully will have better conditions.

Went out to MP this morning and absolutely no one was there. Had the whole river basically to ourselves. Had average runs of about a dozen crabs each time with 30 various traps. Ended the morning after about 3 hours and over a bushel and a half. Crabs were mixed at best only about a dozen of the crabs were real nice mudders. We threw back a lot of white crabs. There shouldn't be to many of those this time of the year so I didn't understand that. Overall the crabs that we kept were solid but not premium. All in all, a good mornring on the water. Caught one keeper with points that were curled forward.
