    Default Report--Rocky Point Rockin

Listened to the wind and weather reports last night and decided it was best to go out this morning......Friday did not sound good. I had promised my son and his Terp wrestlings buddies down at College Park some crabs. Arrived at Rocky Point with my buddy Don at 6:50 and absolutely no cars were there--almost scared me thought it was Wednesday for a moment. Laid down in 9-11 feet of water--one line of 30 traps. . Tide was running out.........wind really blowing. Crabs were running GREAT. We got 2 bushels in by 11:45AM. Big crabs...no females except a couple of doublers. We used perch and striper carcass from fish we had caught this week. Actually were catching two crabs at a time in some of the traps. We had two casualties----with the heavier wind in the morning, I managed to cut two traps lines.

Came back to the dock and the water was extremely low...still managed to load the boat. However, I had to crank in on the trailer rather then drive it on..... Great day...........[excited]

    Default Report--Rocky Point Rockin

I went golfing at Rocky today and when I looked down from hole 10 at noon there were 2 guys still out there .

Took a ride to Back River Wed to do a little perch fishing which was lousy [ I did get a 24 and a 30 inch catfish along the rocks on the south side of HMI ] . 2 guys in a boat were crabbing in BR.. I stopped to talk to them . They said they had just started on their first run of 30 traps and had 2 crabs. I noticed there were no #'s or day on their boat so I reminded them that it was Wed. . He almost flipped . He said he had forgotten the Wed. rule .

Never saw a person pick up and unbait traps so fast in my life .Except for George [ Swartz that is ] He must have thanked me 10 times and he gave me the 2 crabs which I cut up and used for bait to catch the cats . I felt bad for ruining his day .

I also talked to another crabber who told me he just got a ticket at the Proving grounds last Wed . $125 for no special permit .

    Default Report--Rocky Point Rockin

Went out this morning to rocky point and what a beautiful day it was. Averaged about 6-7 crabs per run of 25 traps. Had a couple of 2 crabs in one trap which makes things fun. Ended the day at three dozen crabs in about three hours. Overall the crabs were somewhat on the small side, (about 6 inchers)but most of them were good solid crabs. Had about a dozen nice mudders. Probably could of filled the bushel easily but got pleanty for us to eat and wanted to do a little fishing.

The crabs are still around, don't give up yet!
