    Default Bait holder for traps

Read the reports of bait being lost from traps.I use the clips from a fish stringer-the chain type. The clips are galvanized and very simple to secure on the trap.Open it up with pliers and put the small end of the clip on the trap's center . Easy to open and if the end of the wire is sharpened it will go through most baits. They don't cost much and last forever if washed off with fresh water.I use perch heads or chicken. If I have the time I tie a short piece of line around the bait and clip into the loop.Might solve your problem. Default Bait holder for traps

Hey guys .. I have posted this before. Stainless steel clips. A little thicker diameter then a metal clothes hanger. Cost about 35 dollars to do 30 traps 2 clips in the bottom held down with hog rings or wire ties. One time investment , last forever. I will try to post picture of one and tell you where to go and by the stainless steel rods. You have to manufacture them yourself takes @ 3 hrs with 2 guys. bait will not come off but you will have to remove the chicken neck bone. bait and unbait in seconds.

    God Luck

Bungee cord snoods in center/bottom of trap. Cost per trap, bout 15 cents, will last years, holds bait till nothing left but bone, e-z to bait and un bait, works for me. T.

I used bungee snoods on all of my trotlines, I have never tried. The clips for me are easy to bait and unbait[grin]

What ever floats your boat and works best for you, as long as we're all crabbing. What an excellent season it was. And let me be the first to wish ya all a Happy Halloween. Frost was on the old pumpkin this morning up here in Monrovia. Ain't October a great month. [grin] T.
