Steve, Jim and I (same group from the SRRKC Summer White Perch Tourney) plan on fishing the tourny.
We plan on fishing the river this Sunday morning to do some scouting. All are welcome to join us. I think we are going to launch at Jonas Green Park, unless someone knows of a better place to launch to get on some fish.
I can't make it Sunday, but plan on picking your brain. Take a look at the light tackle trolling thread on the main board using a deep diving crankbait and a smaller bucktail. For some reason that just looks like kayak material to me.
Would be stoked to fish with you guys again... and hopefully show up them stinkpots again... hope more can make it. I also hope Steve's not too distracted by his new paddle to be serious about fishing ;) (sent you a bmail steve).

[/Q]what Creek is Jonas Green Park located on?
Jonas Green Park is on the main stem of the Severn River. It is located underneath RT450 bridge. It's free to launch at the park. No ramp, it's about 50 yards from the parking lot to the water.
This site
has directions to the park as well as many other launch spots in the area. It's a great site, I cut and paste the text saved into a Word document. Tomorrow (Sunday) 3 or 4 of us are meeting at the park at 9AM to do some yak fishing on the Severn. You're welcome to join us.
Rod I have other commitments for tomorrow. However,I love winter Pickerel, yellow perch ,Striper & white perch fishing. If you can find a place for us to launch above the rte.50 bridge on the Severn or any creek on the Magothy, you can count me in from Nov. til March.
The only place I know above the RT 50 bridge is Smith's Marina. I think it's $15-20 to launch at Smith's. You can launch at Truxton Park for free. This ramp is at the end of Spa Creek. I never fished Spa Creek in the Fall or Winter but heard it does have good Pickerel fishing. I usually Pickerel fish on the Magothy. Launch at Ferry Point Marina. They charge $20 for two yaks. Do you know any good Pickerel spots in the B-more area?
Yesterday was a slow day on the Severn. Between 4 of us we caught 1 Pickerel, 1 Perch, a couple of dink Stripers and Steve caught 1 keeper Striper. I hope the fishing is better next weekend for the tourney.
I usually do fair in Middle River for Pickerel but only caught 1 yesterday and a bunch of small Y.Perch.The Severn & magothy are much..much better. The peak Pickerel fishing in the Severn used to be Dec.& Jan.,before ice up ,if we do get iced.Today I went to Loch Raven.1 Bass 1 Pickerel and a few bites.Nothing shallow,I had to jig em up from 20 ft..I don't know what they charge, but there used to be a launch at a marina on a nice cove in Sherwood Forrest.I also
Used to launch at a private ramp off Ridgeley ave, many moons ago on Luce Creek.
