Don't know about upriver, but there are still plenty of bottom fish around the mouth of the Corrotoman and on the other side just up from Urbanna.
Unfortunately I did not get my fill of croaker fishing this year and would like to make a trip to mid-Rapp area if they are still around in decent numbers. Are they? I'd go striper fishing but have never done it on the Rapp and looking for a more casual bottomfishing trip this weekend.

I have not seen any craoker up near Tappahannock for a couple of weeks. I figured they must have headed south.

Thanks Cap'n George! What are the chances of drifting up a keeper flounder? I haven't followed the bite on the Rapp this year. If the chances are low I'll just stick to croaker/trout if I can find them. I prefer to put in at Garrett's since I'm coming from the West. Should I maybe consider driving down to the next ramp downriver from Garrett's? I forget what they call that one.
Yes, flounder are still at 6 and 8 occasionally. You might be thinking of the Waterview ramp.
we were caughting them at the spike and silos the bigger ones at the silos just outside of wake
I mean catching them at the spike ans then the silos
We had pretty good luck last weekend with croakers at the red barns.

fished waterveiw area 9/25 ,9/27 10/1 , 9/25 dozen blues, 2 flounder mixed with croak and spot, 9/27 same as above no flounder ,, 10/1 nothing , skates were caught each time , which don;t count, my freind fished 9/29 caught 6 blues and 4 striper and yes another skate ,, i was excited about fishing on 10/1 after my bud's trip 9/29 , ,but it was a disapointment , although it was a beautiful day ,better than working , used cut bait, croaker and spot ,
goodluck
Can someone give me an idea where the red barns are located? I have to drive kinda far and want to ensure that is not further downriver than I want to go. It also effects where I put in and if I know where those ramps are. Thanks!
