Default Monday Fishing report on lower Potomac

[grin] Ok the report is I fished around point lookout light most of today. A little rough at first, but by 3pm the water was flat and the sun was warm. I caught 4 flounders, no keepers. 6 black sea bass only 2 over 12 inches. About 10-12 nice size spot. All on Fish Bites, bloodworm flavor. I trolled for about 2 hours around the mouth of the potomac to the bay. I used #1 planers with jigs and spoons with feather skirts. Not one bite. I also trolled a Swim Shad around 20ft with no hits. I did watch lots of people trolling, but no fish caught. Just for kicks I dragged a MOJO in around 40ft of water with no hits. Well thats it for now.

    Dan,
Thanks for the report. At least you had something pulling back and smelly hands.

    Thanks for the report.
I'm glad you had some fish tugging at your lines.
I could not get out for about the 3rd weekend in a row and am having fishing withdrawal symptoms.
Maybe this weekend will work out for me.

Try using a number 3 spoon on a planer. My brother and I caught a 36 inch 24 21 inch Rockfish. The number 1 planer never got a hit on it.

    Good Luck

Thanks for the info, but I need to clarify, are you suggesting taking a bigger spoon deeper with a bigger planer (a number 3) when you say the number one never got a hit, that is how I understand your post.
