Seems like the tide needs to be running. A couple weeks ago I was out there just a bit lower at the bar and you could see tide coming in and the fish were right on that line. Most were short fish 15in but a few bigger mixed in there.
Left Hope Springs about 3...ish. Started marking fish just south of the island off Fairview. Most seemed to be holding in 30' water, just off the bottom. Trolled 4 lines around the channel edges just south of the island, using red/white yozuri and silver yozuri...nothing! Switched two lines to a 3way swivel w/ a sassy shad w/ rattle in the tail on 8' leader and heavy bucktail on 3' leader.......WhamCaught 9 w/in one hour at about 6..ish...all between 19' - 25' . 3 hit the shad and the remaining hit the bucktail. Current from the tide was 'moving'

I caught all fish trolling across the current. I also think the rattles I added to the shad tails helped attract the fish. There is a nice dropoff....very dramatic....18'-40' about 200 yards below the island. I was hooking up on each pass across it. There was a boat setting up nearby to catfish for the evening just as I was leaving at sunset.....must be a good spot for them too.
is the island off of Fairview actually the Lighthouse-Maryland Point Light?
Yup! That is it....about 1-2 miles just south of Tims Rivershore II.
were they diseased or all clean?
