Still looking for the jumbo spot, and decided to try Towles Pt to begin yesterday (after an upproductive half hour with the fleet). Wound up staying there the whole incoming tide. Anchored in 26 feet. There were some oyster dredgers working the point, and chumming for us. Seemed that way anyway, as we were down tide and caught a load of nice, but not jumbo, spot on bloodworms, a good number (8 keepers of each) of blues and trout to 2 lbs. on cut spot, and a 17.25 inch flounder. That's right, 17.25 inch. We measured him several times as I thought the limit was 17.5 inches. Luckily I checked the regs before tossing my brother-in-law's fish back. Nice day for fishing, overcast, just a bit cool, and almost no wind. Gosh, I love it when I've got the weekdays off! Also when David brings smoked mackeral dip!
