Cut the wire at the length you want. I use 6 to 8 foot.

Take your hook 7/0 - 10/0 and attach it to one end of the wire with a haywire twist. Do not cut the tag end. leave the tag end stick up about 5/8 of an inch.

Then slide a bait spring on then the lure your using. ( Islander, sea witche. eye catcher )

All is left to do is twist a loop in the end of the wire using a haywire twist.

The tag end you left sticking up at the hook end will be your pin for the bally hoo.

Clip the snap swivel from you running line on your rod to the loop in the wire.

You will get less bites with wire. I just step up my leader and crimp a small piece of wire in front of the lure to help with bite-offs.

I run a 10'' piece of stranded cable w/ a hoo nose spring and a dark colored sea witch....connect directly to wind on leader w/ a 150 lb swivel covered up by a small light colored sqiud.....you can attach a 1/2'---1 1/2 oz chin weight as needed
