HELLO TF erS

I HAVE A QUESTION. HOW DO YOU TYE THE UNI KNOT AND MAKE THE KNOT BE WHERE YOU WANT IT TO BE ON THE LINE? WHEN I TYE CHUTES FOR A UMBRELLA THE LEADERS ARE NEVER THE SAME LENGTH. I MEAN AT LEAST 2-4" DIFFERENT. MOST I SEE WITH UNI KNOTS ARE THE SAME LENGTH. (APPROX) SO I KNOW ITS A WAY. PLS TELL ME HOW

Keep practicing- after awhile you'll get the feel for it.The improved clinch is a strong knot also. You can also use crimps on 60 lb mono. They are very easy to use and simple to get the exact same lengths. You can adjust them before you make the crimp.

practice, practice, practice!!!!

next time the wind blows(when ever that is), get a spool of line and start tying. practice your rigs all the same, if its good keep it, if its not, drop it in the trash bin.

as for the uni knot, its 1 of the 3 knots that I use, along with the triple surgeons loop and palomar knot. but the uni is the main player. Probally 25 out of 30 knots is the uni. Its easy, quick, and i can tie it in the dark. Plus its very strong.

The "uni" knot shown on this web site is not a uni knot.
