I was piddling around in the basement looking for some of my old camera accessories and such and came across this little gadget I made about 23 years ago. I saw it in a photo mag and they had given all the dimensions. I use to carry it in my car for those shots where you need to be rock steady but don't have the time to screw with a tripod. You can see you can stick it on your car at any spot and you have position control at the swivel head.

It's made out of 1/8" thick aluminum and measures point to point 8 and 7/8"s inch. The swivel part in the middle I got in a camera store and the suction cups I got in a auto store. They are replacements cups for a roof rack or whatever. It takes longer to round up the parts then it takes to make it. Enjoy.

It is a neat toy. You should market under the name of "the Paparrazi" tripod. Now all you need is Brittany!:D

If I did that, with my luck, I would be hit with a copywrite infingement lawsuit. It is really cheap to make and anyone with some half assed wood shop skills could make one in a half hour or so. It really was a handy little tool that I kept on the backseat. Sure beats fumbling for a tripod

What you say is true....but do you realize how many lazy people there are out there? This would be a godsend for them......and what you make can cover the copyright infringement lawsuit.;-)

The truth is, this gadget isn't my idea. It was a project that I saw years ago in a Photo Magazine. It was put out there for public domain and thier use. I would suppose if I started to manufacture it there would be someone that would materialize out of thin air and slap with with a lawsuit.

Fisk,

Psst ..... design a mount that we can use to easily, quickly and SECURELY mount a video camera to multiple locations on hardtop railings. It would have to have full tilt and swivel functions.

If you know of one that already exists please point me in the right direction!

Tight lines,
Dan
