We bought that model for my son for Christmas. He's been using it for snowboarding and the video is amazing. One tip is to buy the battery backpack for more recording time.
I just got one for my birthday last week. I took it out for a trial run on the boat and the video was great. I'm finding I may have to upgrade my PC to edit the video though.
I'm in Hawaii for the next 10 days so I plan to do some "experimentation".
Got the 2 for Christmas and I found out the same thing.
I was using Window Movie Maker which came with Windows. I couldn't edit mp4 files unless I converted to AVI , using Go Pros free editing software. After watching a lot of ''how to edit tutorials '' , I have the old WMM, which came with Vista. Upgrading to Windows 7 or 8 , WMM recognizes mp4.
There're other paid programs that do a lot more then WMM, but for me being a beginner , its user friendly and has the basic features ( titles, effects, transitions, audio ) and it's free. I opened a You tube account . Haven't uploaded any videos yet, but you can upload mp4 files and you can edit.
