For all of you guys and gals out there with Lowrance HDS Gen 2. Some nice updates for the units. I'd have to buy some new hardware to do some of them but it may be owrk it.

Updated my HDS7 last night and ran it a while. It makes a lot of changes. To me, the "pages" menu seemed a lot slower/less responsive, but it also looks different. Also at one point the regular sonar quit, side scan kept working. Had to reboot and it eventually fixed itself.

Well, that's not exactly what I was looking for in an update.

I updated mine yesterday and I'm heading out tomorrow. One point I noted it that it now has the configuration settings for my Point 1 heading sensor and GPS receiver. That is a major plus for me and I'm hoping that it fixes the overlay issue I had when I displayed the radar on the charts.

For all that have navionics on there HDS GEN2 and Gen2 Touch Lowrance added a new featrure called Depth Highlight. This allows you the ability to select a MAX and MIN depth to be highlighted. If you want to fish at between 18' and 24' just set the MAX at 24' and the MIN at 18' the area between the two areas will be in white. Did this last week and it is really cool. here is a befor and after. Have a Great Memorial Weekend. Thank a VET... 7319373194

In addition to depth shading, there's some other nice stuff. Easy View (de-clutters and enlarges spot soundings, etc) ( (

And Shallow Water Highlight ( tml) cde3c8.png ( cde3c8.png.html)

Hey guys and gals - just updated the elite7 to 2.0 over the weeknd and it will now show SonarCharts aka (Fish n' Chip) bathy. I am using the NAV+ chart to do this, now fish don't have a chance. I only downloaded a small areas to test this out but I will be adding lot more this week.
