Cobia are mostly gone but some continue to be caught. They are being caught chumming on the hills in the bay and along the oceanfront and off of the buoys as they head south. While the cobia bite has greatly cooled down, the red drum bite continues to heat up. They are being found by anglers looking for cobia and more are being caught stacked up at the islands of the CBBT. Sheepshead are active at the CBBT along with a bycatch of triggerfish and tautog. There are still spadefish hanging around the islands but they will be moving out but will hang around the coastal wrecks into ...

The big winner this past week were cobia anglers who have had good success in and around Virginia Beach. Other species are being caught, but not as hot and heavy as in previous weeks.

Inshore and offshore fishing has been good this past week with a special emphasis with offshore anglers who have been having good luck with the early push of billfish making their way into local waters.

Flounder fishing has taken off. The largest flounder are right where they are supposed to be, at the CBBT. Flounder weighing over ten pounds were caught both by live-baiters and wire-liners this week. Flounder are also being caught in the Back River Reef area, 36A, Hampton Bar, in the York River, inside the seaside inlets of the Eastern Shore, and some have begun to show at the ...

Virginia fishing is just about wide open inshore and offshore.

Capt. Ken said that the yellowfin and bigeye tuna have shown in the Norfolk Canyon area. Deep-dropping remains very good for blueline and golden tilefish. Sea bass can be found mixed in with the bluelines or on the ocean wrecks.
