Fishing Fly Fishing How to Fishing and Fishing Reports at Tidal Fish - Maryland Saltwater Report Weekly Summary: Feb 9, 2007
  • Maryland Saltwater Report Weekly Summary: Feb 9, 2007

Winter has moved into the Maryland waters of the Chesapeake Bay and it's tributaries, but anglers are still managing to brave the wind and cold and catch some pickerel in the upper reaches of both the western and eastern shore tributaries. Small jigs tipped with live minnows or jigs with a nice bucktail and some flash fished along the bottom have been the trick.

Some anglers are gearing up for ice fishing in and around the Susquehanna Flats now that the ice is thick with the sub-32 degree temperatures that we have been having. Anglers should always use caution when ice fishing and fish with a partner in case of an emergency. Anglers fishing the flats can expect to catch yellow and white perch along with an occasional catfish and largemouth bass. As the reports start to trickle in we will be sure to update you.
