    Angry Ignition Switch Stolen / need help re-wiring

    This weekend took the cover off the boat to go out fishing and noticed wires dangling under the dash. Looked at the dash and my ignition switch was gone. Went to the store and bought a new switch but my wires are color coded different then the owners manual. I have 5 wires I have to hook up, red&blue, yellow&black, pink&white(might be faded purple and white), brown, and finally black. The engine is an 1989 evinrude 100hp V4. Any help would be appreciated. Hopefully the jerk that stole my switch had a fine &(*%$# weekend. My 7 and 10 year old boys were pretty disappointed dad could not take them out fishing. Hope to get all hooked up this week and be back in the water this weekend.
    Thanks in advance for your help/input.

    The back of switch should have terminals labeled
    B=battery ,12v usually red sometimes with purple stripe
    c=choke (primer) usually purple/white
    s=start usually white but could be dirty white/brown
    m=ground , usually black
    m=kill, usually black/yellow

    Where was the boat? Just curious as I am considering storing a boat off site and theft is my big concern.

    If it happened to me, I would first look towards my gal.

    Sometimes they drop hints in strange ways.

    Call or stop by Colley Marine off Shore Drive and talk to Scott. He works on OMC motors and should be able to help you out. He is a super nice guy and knows those motors well. I just cant believe someone would steal a ignition switch considering how little they costs. I would guess an act of vandalism by some nearby punks just to ruin a planned outing.
