need guidance on LT Jigging... tom dont know how

Hi, my boy and I went out trolling, and caught nutin.

People said try jigging, so I bought some expensive metal crippled alewives in
silver and blue. They did not look or feel right, to catch stripers.

Tried slow lift and drop. nutin
Tried fast sewing machine action. silly looking and silly feeling. nutin
tried short lift jigging, tall lift jigging, lift and dangle, lift dangle drop. nutin.

The jigs were dressed with 10 inch BKD's in white and yellow. Nutin.

The jigs did catch me. what if anything am I doing wrong.????

I feel like such a ninny... smiling.....

Tom-Welcome. Now take out a pad and pencil and spend some time, like Phil said, on Chesapeakelighttackle.com You will cut your learning curve down considerably. After you have too many tips and pointers and you have some appropriate gear, go out and do it. Don't be afraid to go heavy on the weight to start. You need to dial in the "feel". Once you are comfortable down size until you are using the lightest jig and still be able to feel the bottom. Good luck and most importantly, don't be afraid to ask question.
