After having to abandoning the OBX cobia trip on Monday due to small craft advisory, I convinced my buddy Chad to come up here on talk of a hot bite. Got new fishing acquaintance Derek to round out the crew for his first cobia trip. Finally saw some bait south of sandbridge, shortly after spotted three cobia. Chad makes a perfect cast on only his second cobia fishing trip and the big one inhaled the eel. Toss the buck tail at the other two, one hit but did not come tight. After a 30 minute fight, the slob is stuffed into the fish box. Bait disappeared and no more fish? Wind picked up and we headed back to the dock. Made weight at 57 lbs. water temp most of the day in the range of 66-68. Looked like most other boats ran way south.
That right there is some good intel ........ I never would have guessed to run South of Rudee ...... Nice Fish !!

Finally broke the boat record fish you caught Chris!
