    Default Missing sailboater found

Wow , this body really drifted far.

Maryland Natural Resources Police on Friday said the body of a Baltimore man missing since he fell off his sailboat near the Bay Bridge on New Year's Eve has been found.
Hunters found the body of Stephen Reynolds, 48, near the mouth of the Choptank River, west of Cambridge, on Jan. 30. The state medical examiner identified him using dental records on Friday, police said.
The hunters found Reynolds along the shoreline of Cook Point, about 10 miles west of Cambridge and 28 miles south of Sandy Point Light, where a witness said he saw him fall overboard.
Reynolds, who had been living aboard his 30-foot boat, and a companion left Baltimore the afternoon of Dec. 31 and decided to anchor for the night near the lighthouse north of the Bay Bridge. He fell overboard about 9 p.m., police said.
The companion told investigators that Reynolds lost his grip on the 30-foot boat and drifted away until she could no longer see him.
Rescue crews from Natural Resources Police, Anne Arundel Fire Department and the Coast Guard searched unsuccessfully for him for four days

In that cold water, a body doesn't bloat and float. Must have drifted under water until it hit a shoreline........ Gary

22 CC - The DNR is still looking everyday when weather permits but it is only a surface search as they patrol the Severn.

Once water warms up some - those two bodies will likely come up to surface.

It is crazy they could not be found though with side scan. The area they were seen to go under is narrow and only about 45 feet at deepest. Severn does not have much tidal current - bodies should not have gone far. Only theory is the wind current carried bodies away from search area.

Hopefully both are found soon - to at least give families some closure.
