Can anyone recommend a location where I can fish from shore on my own and maybe catch something? My experience (Tamarindo etc.) has been typical third world - practically no fish, everything caught out by the locals. Thanks in advance.

We stayed in Jaco a few years ago and there were people near los suenos fishing. Jaco is not a bad drive from San Jose either...
