I know it is far away but the 2017 event does require a lot of advance planning.
Biggest thing is setting the date of the event for Sandy Point.
This year the park was very crowded - and DNR officials suggested WAF move our date into September to avoid the crowds.
The first Saturday is Labor Day weekend - second one ( 9th ) is the Md seafood festival.
This leaves the 16th as first open Saturday.
The plus side - much less crowded , cooler but still nice weather and bottom fishing still good.
Minus side - might have trouble signing up boats / volunteers.
Like to hear everyone's ideas on this - good or bad.
They say that life's a carousel - spinning fast, you've got to ride it well.
