    Default LT Rapp River 4/24/19

Set out on a dead low tide with a family friend and fished the pickle factory, WSB, Carters Creek, Corrotoman and the main stem of the Rapp up to Morratico. Water was stained somewhat above the bridge and 70 degrees. Fished hard till the top of the high tide. Managed to scratch out two keeper size pic and release fish including this beauty. Healthy looking and very fat. Should be heating up soon on all species as the WT rises. Caught on a 5” plastic in 4’ of water.

Thanks for the good news! York was cloudy on Sunday as well. No love from the fish for me though.

I find it's usually wide open by early to mid-May, especially for the topwater bite.

Well my report isn't as pretty as a healthy striper but if you are looking to bottom fish, the white perch are plentiful as well as catfish if you are in to them.
We left Best about 10:00 went out to toward marker #6 in about 20 fow and set up shop all day. About 35 + - white perch and about 40 cats. We drifted for a while but then anchored Bloodworms were the ticket for perch and if you don't want to catch cat, leave the nite crawlers in the store.

Good to know on the white perch, they're some of the best eating on the river and I don't feel guilty keeping a mess.
