Agreed!!! I saved some miles and fuel by looking through the glasses from the mouth of the Severn....and that was Thursday! Last year all over. Last of the stock being yanked out. Sad.

I agree Mike. I have been spoiled. I have been fishing in the upper Potomac for catfish. Hardly any boats, always calm water due to 100 yard high banks on both sides and I catch 50 -70 fish every time I go. Just wish the crabs would start running in the South River. Not enough salt yet........ Gary

That's great info Skip, thanks for taking the time to post all the detail. Definitely not my favorite way to fish but I'll take it if it's the only game in town. Luckily it's a short ride from the Magothy.

Hey Gary, are the Smallies still decent up there?? I'm about ready to dump the Bay and go back to my Smallie fly and light tackle roots!

great read. I usually fish the pilings from my kayak a few times a year and have had to chase hooked fish through the double pilings (dragging the tips of my other rods across the concrete above ). I never anchor. If a boat is bearing down on me I want to be able to move. Getting a little worn out for that any more. Bad Shoulder. Normally when we have a "typical" year you can pretty much pick your piling. the bite it is a changin. Had a lot of fun when it didn't feel so much like work.
