    Default Hackett 6/17

Took my aunt and uncle from California fishing yesterday at Hackett from 3-6pm using fresh LY from Anglers, first fish was a 20 inch keeper rockfish and the next 6 were catfish (2 gray ones and 4 yellow) They had the best time because it was their first time ever fishing on a boat and we were catching fish.

Yes Gary... It was a joy to see them so excited and perfect time to catch my first keeper rockfish of the year. I was praying for pullage because I skunked the last 2 trips lol. Moved in a bit after 6pm to Dolly's to see if theres perch yet but didnt get any.

Did you keep the fish and cook them up for them. It always feels good to catch your dinner..... Gary

Yes I did, I grilled the whole rockfish with lemon butter and some Old Bay and it was delicious, as fresh as it gets and I also got some crabs. They got the full Chesapeake Bay experience and loved every bit of it. Tommy

I have great memories of fishing Hackett's as a kid in the 80's. Bluefish, rock, spot, white perch... My dad would pull up, find his little lump, drop anchor and we were in our glory!
