Got out at first light with out going tide and crabbed thru the incoming to around 3pm. 13 keeper crabs from just legal to 7”. Long day but was with 2 good friends with lots of laughs. Let all crabs go. All in all a very good day even with the slow crabbing.
I was anxiously awaiting your report. Must have been brutal sun wise out there today. Sorry you didn’t do better. Were you using traps, trot necks or clams? Were they many crabbers out there? It’s usually crowded on Fridays.
We were running 2 600’ lines with necks. There were a few coms plus some recs. We did move a numbers of times going from 4’ to 12’. Water temp was 81*and the water was a little stained but not bad. Crab reports should be much better by now. I hope this isn’t a repeat of last year . Good luck to everyone.

I saw a post on another site that on western shore mid bay river running 2400’ with clams in 3-10’ got 2 bushels. Could it be clams is the bait to be using and not necks.

Seems like the crabs are just absent. Noting much to talk about in the eastern Bay. Should be PLENY of crabs this time of year. Not many crabbing,,, and there is a reason for that.... no crabs
There’s a lot of crabs, for some reason or another they just aren’t moving up the bay. Typical southern areas that are usually not good by now are still producing all the crabs
They must still be south. Not much at all upper bay yet, I dont think it will be any north this year if they are not there yet.
