    Default Ocean City Bay Fishing

Had the second "Fun Day Monday " with the gals yesterday. Took a 17ft Boston Whaler (1978) I bought from the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum and rebuilt over the winter to the bay and inlet of Ocean City. Launch went well and buzzed around the area for a while. I did not have any electronics so doing the old school stuff. Found a drop off and the wife picked up a nice fat flounder. Then a few pig fish and a toad. We caught a few sponge crabs who would not let go of our bait, must be hungry. We then dropped off the kids at the pier so they could walk to the beach while the wife and I took the boat past the inlet just to say we did it, and then back to the ramp. Got our customary bucket of Thrashers Fries and 1hr45min drive home. Great day over all, I send phots next time of next MONDAY FUN DAY.
Have fun with your family folks, you never get this time back..

Nice report. How about pics of the whaler? Have always wanted to do a project like that, but haven't found the right one.

Nothing like an old classic whaler.

My 13’ 1970 Restoration is more workboat grade now with battle scars galore, but wouldn’t trade it.

Funny, the first trip in my restoration was to OC.

I see plenty of ‘em around, most in a condition where the owner would probably part with it.

Thanks, but bigger than I was thinking. Looking for a 14 or 17 Montauk. Something simple that can be used for crabbing or fishing the bay in OC.

Not the prettiest but new foam and looks decently redone.

    Crazy the prices they fetch
