Just like the last few years, they aren't coming up much past the bridge. A guy at my marina was coming back the other day as I was working on my boat. He had dropped his traps at rocky point at legal starting time and crabbed until after 11am and had 9 crabs to show for it. I think this is going to be the new normal. It's been like this for the last 4 seasons. Before then I could literally exit my marina and drop my traps just outside the creek and be back home steaming my bushel by noon...those days are gone. Too many females being taken

Default any crabs in bush river yet??? UPDATE

Crabbed Patapsco this afternoon from about 2:30-5:45 and pulled a bushel of mostly #1’s with some jumbos and a few 5 3/4” slipped in. Threw back some 5 1/2”.

Ran 2 600’ lines with clams. One line in about 11-12’ started off hot and then died after about 4-5 runs. Moved the other line that was in 5’ into 9-10’ set at the end of the other line but right at the bottom of a vertical drop from 5’. It was just offset from the other one a little bit. The 9-10’ line caught about 2/3 of the basket.

If I have my run by run count right on my phone, 58 in the bushel, 17 runs.

No crabs north of the bridge.

Good news is they are holding on longer like they do when they start fattening up.

    Chris
