    Default VA Striper Regs

Just checked out the reports and pics on THT Chesapeake Bay Forum. Don’t think the new VA rules are going to help the striper population very much as they are decking them from 18” up by the boat loads. These individual state regs are a joke for proper and effective species management/preservation.

I think that Virginia is just getting ahead of the game. ASMFC is going to mandate cuts next year.

In theory what Virginia did this year will count towards doing our part.

All I can say is it's about time.

Learn from the success of the Red Drum and move on.

Good news is there's plenty of the "good eating sized fish" in the Elizabeth river, just like there were 15 - 20 years ago, just have to wait for them to grow up.
